Project description
The building of the Museum of the Second World War in Gdansk became one of the most recognizable buildings in Poland thanks to its unique, ambicious architecture and structure as well as its purpose. The main engineering office invited us to a joint operation in this project in the scope of creating the executive plans for the steel structures of the facade, roof and the VIP-overpass. The very intrecate geometry of the building, without any right angles, was a real challange. The creation of the executive project of the steel structure was only possible using a 3d programm. In this case we were utilizing the Bocad programm. The modeling of the structure went without any problems, untill it turned out, that due to hardware limitations caused by the imense number of intrecate structural elements, it was not possible to display and develop the whole model at once. We found the solution for the existing problem by seperating the model into stages and working on each of them step by step. The process of creating the executive documentation from the 3d model was very tedious and complicated, but the effect is ravishing. Thanks to our know-how, expertise and determination we executed a very complex and unique project within the set deadline.
